Why do you want to do pulls before snatching?

A valid reason. You could try it and see if it helps? I typically do pulls after snatching because I prefer snatching fresh. There is no right or wrong answer here.

Re: Snatch Pull before Snatches?

Well, sometimes it's good in the warmup or when doing a set.

I like to often warmup in my early sets with Snatch (generally from floor, maybe blocks), then Snatch from hang, Chinese Snatch High Pull.

If I miss a lift, I will generally do Chinese Snatch High Pull immediately after in hopes to make it after a short rest. Especially if I let the bar get too forward.

Or when I bump the weight up after making a successful lift, I might immediately do Chinese Snatch High Pull after putting on the extra weight as soon as possible to prime myself to make the full lift after a short rest.

Now, sometimes as the weight gets higher toward 1rm, you might want to omit from doing them unless you need to rework that good training pattern.

So it really depends on use.

I find it also easier to insert a Snatch High Pull into a series than multiple Snatches. Just don't have the capacity for it yet and my wrist isn't exactly too fond of it either.

Full lifts before accessories. Ask any weightlifting coach.

I'd rather do Sn Balance for this purpose then...You can go heavier than your Sn...and get confidence getting under some weight, then go back to Sn...I wouldn't ALWAYS train that way.

*edit: check out this progression (WFS)
