Back Spasms

Had extreme back spasm while doing SDHPs. The closest appointment with an orthopedist is Jan. 13th. I took two weeks off and have just started with light workouts and running. Anyone else have back spasms? How long did it take you to get back into WODS?

Re: Back Spasms

The answer is it always depends -- how bad they are, what is spasm, if faulty mechanics, posture, etc.

Work on your mobility, and foam rolling, and massage to get it loosened up.

Hip and thoracic mobility work should help calm down the low back as well.

Re: Back Spasms

Why the ortho? You could probably find a chiro or PT open on Monday that may be able to help if you can't help yourself before then.

Re: Back Spasms

Agreed.

Though even with open access PT reimbursement is still limited by scripts from doc most of the time.

Chiro could be a good option.
