Almond Butter to PB Doh!

Hi All,
After going Paleo in April, I have been hooked on Almond butter, and was eating a lot of it to get in some good fat and cals. Over time, to save money I switched to the non-stir, ONLY because it was cheaper (Paleo diet JACKED up my food bill). I did not like the flavor as much, and obviously it was not "paleo" since it had cane sugar and palm oil.
Well this week after shopping I accidently purchased organic no stir peanut butter. Opened it this am, took a heaping spoonful and realized the error I made. So now I am stuck with it till I finnish it at the end of the week. I have ate some PB off and on throughout the diet change but tried not to as much.

Any of you out there strictly eat PB, or eat PB on a regular basis? I do not have any dig. issues with PB so I am taking the error as no big deal. Anyone else agree?

If unsweetened peanut butter is the worst thing in your diet, you're doing better than 99.87% of the population. Spend your time worrying about more important stuff.

Did almond butter for a while, but like you I got tired of paying for it so I switched back to peanut butter full time.

My peanut butter's only ingredient is "Peanuts" so I think I'll be ok.

Nope not exactly worried, just curious. Lately I have found myself "cheating" more frequently, some of which due to me loosing too much weight, and obviously the worse foods are more caloric... thanks though!

What kind do you find yourself buying?

If you are losing weight that you don't want to lose, don't do strict paleo. I was in the same boat so I included things like oatmeal, rice, any kind of potatoes, peanut butter, and grains occasionally. Ice cream always works too

Either Smucker's Natural, or Woodstock Farms depending on where I'm at when I need to buy more.

Re: Almond Butter to PB Doh!

If you use almond butter or peanut butter that needs to be stirred, store it upside-down in the pantry before opening it.

My wife read this tip somewhere and it works perfectly! It makes it so much easier to stir. Totally eliminates the "concrete" at the bottom of the jar.

I tried that tip, did not work for me, I found giving it a good stir and sticking it in the fridge right after worked.

Re: Almond Butter to PB Doh!

I wound up with a giant puddle of peanut oil in my cabinet after trying that upside-down method a while ago. Turns out the jar was defective. Now I use a plate as a base.
