You, too, canít have a body like this

To get the abs, male models have to starve, binge, booze, suck sweets, slap on fake tan and be Photoshopped

I think that any reasonable person should know that male models, even "fitness" models, look like cover material for only a short period of time.

Re: You, too, canít have a body like this

I find it sad and funny that there are guys, a few of them, in my gym and all over the crossfit community that are bigger and leaner than most cover models and walk around like that 24x7.

Genetics, great if you got em, a ***** if you don't.

Re: You, too, canít have a body like this

Hey, I have a perfectly defined six pack 24/7, 365! It's just hidden behind a keg, but that's not the point

Sorry, family joke. Seriously though, I have a young guy I know in the military who is looks obsessed is starting to fail fitness standards because his body fat is so low all the time and he eats crap to keep slim he hasn't got the energy or strength to do much of anything, sad really.

Of course he is always reading Men's Health (and magazines like that) and doing the sometimes insane workouts they come up with.

Carbohydrate and water manipulation are common to people who have to make weight classes. I don't find it surprising at all that models do similar things to achieve the looks they need.

Re: You, too, canít have a body like this

it's genetics mostly, i knew a few black dudes in the military who ate mcdonalds every other meal and had a six pack without ever going to the gym.

but if i got paid what these guys do for a couple hours worth of work i would go through a little physical discomfort, it's a job we all have to work.

Re: You, too, canít have a body like this

My body is a temple.......its just closed for repairs!
I don't care so much about the rippling abs, the veins and the lack of body fat. What gets me is the expecation that men don't have body hair. There are waaaay too many metro-sexuals in Aus now running about shaving their arms, their legs, chests etc because that's how men are "supposed" to look. Personally, I'm more Burt Reynolds than Justin Bieber and that's how I'm staying!!
I do have abs though.......

I hear you dude. And I've heard and know of women (mostly YOUNG, really) see a hairy chest and say it's gross, and commenting on how they'd like a boyfriend that's basically hairless. F--- that!!!!!

I'm *n proud of being sortof hairy. I think this is why beards are making a comeback (are they?). I've been growing mine for almost 3 months now and aim for 6 with no trimming. When I was still studying a few years back a couple of girls touched my forearm hair and said they liked it. Now that's my kind of woman. It should be in their DNA to like hair on men. What is this nonsense of women wanting men with waxed chests, I just don't get it. And men doing their eyebrows? WTF!? We're being womanized. We need to fight this. This is a cool topic
