Perfect.

Some people seem to think you have to go Paelo, or Zone. If that works for you go for it. Right now I do my best to cut out sugars, not eat overly processed foods, and stick to meats, veggies, and fruits. Still drink my milk and have bread now and then. Works for me.

Re: There is no try. Do or do not.

Yeah those questions seem silly to one who knows a lot about their own diet already. I remember when I first started to watch my food intake. I had plenty of questions and I found a group of people with more knowledge than myself to help me. I am also still learning but doing what is best for my body.

But fustrating or not people making the switch to a healthier lifestyle still need support and cf community has a wealth of knowledge. Keep in mind, some people learn by reading, attending seminars, discussion and so forth.

With all that in mind, most people I have seen on this page have been supportive of others from what I have read in other posts so keep sharing your information with others!

Tony, it's not the asking questions that is the problem. Rather it's the, "i want to change my eating habits and get healthy. I've decided to go paleo...BUT i refuse to give up cream in my coffee, sugar in my tea. Oh, i for to mention that I'm a vegetarian and if i can subsist on twinkies, that would be great? Help!" attitude that Katherine's talking about.

That's cool. I don't need pics like that floating around on the Internet anyhow. Especially considering what that particular WOD (Jan 14) was....

There really seems to be a lot of "all or nothing" thinking in CrossFit what with peoples threads about "I don't have a rower or a set of bumper plates, if I do a workout with dumbbells is it still crossfit?" and this same thought pattern with diet that you're talking about. People need to relax.

And that includes the people giving advice. For the vast majority, sugar (or not) in their coffee just doesn't matter because they have much more serious dietary issues. Someone eating a diet based on real foods is already well ahead of most of the population, and is in a position to decide whether to go strictly Paleo. But if someone is trying to fix a diet based on McDonald's, Coke, and Twinkies, it may be counterproductive to tell them they can't have rice with their meat and veggie stir fry.

Katherine
