Re: 20 Rep Crossfit Total

I have been doing CFSB and was suffering through 20 rep sets and thought it would be cool to see what a 20 Rep total would be. So I picked a conservative weight that I knew I could get 20 (Press was questionable). I figured I would fall between 60-70 % of my 1RM CFT. I would take your 1RM CFT and use that as a place to start.

Good Luck, I am already wanting to go for 900.

Great job man. Those Deadlifts were easy money, at least another 25lbs on that, at least.

Re: 20 Rep Crossfit Total

Well, I gave it a go. These are the little boy numbers I managed to achieve.

Squat: 255 lb (worst of the 3, but still had some left in the tank)
Press: 100 lb (easiest of the 3, had a good 10-20 lb on this one, I'm coming for you Bill, haha)
Deadlift: 275 lb (felt good, will shoot for 305-315 next time)

Not "Big Dog" numbers like Bill and Derek, but not bad for me. My best CFTs are 910 (345/160/405 sumo) and 895 (355/155/385 trad). I just finished about 4 weeks of straight powerlifting about 2 weeks ago and haven't re-CFT'ed since. I think I'm prob (hopefully) closer to 950 by now. I did wear a belt (loosely) for the squat and DL and I think it helped keep my form in check, on deads especially.

I really like the mental side of getting amped up for a heavy set of 20. Never done a heavy 20 before, outside of 225 lb (sq/DL) in the 21-15-9 breakdown.

Great workout, now time to start working on slingin MAN weight.

Weighed in at 214 between squats and press (5'10" ish). Poor diet to blame.

Guys - make sure you mark you links Work and Family Safe or not...

You should probably mark them unsafe for egos too...20 REP 800+ totals is sick...and higher than many peoples 1 rep totals!

Derek-

I watched the video again...I'd bet you could pull 405x20. I think you will hit 900 no problem...55 on DL, 35 on Squat, 10 on press (although that last one looked TOUGH).

Can't wait to see it!
