Re: Ab Workouts

Haven't seen Turkish get-ups mentioned yet...if you want to talk about stabilizing the midline like a MFer try some barbell TGUs.

+1 for that. Also, try clean and pressing something heavy, and then walk somewhere with it (make sure you have room to drop it).

Re: Ab Workouts

My typical ab training in a week looks like this.

Day 1. 30 x jack knife situps superset with 1 min planks at 5 sets.

Day 2. 1/2 crunch x10 , full knees to elbows crunch x 10, situps x 10 constantly rotating until i did all that 10 times.

Day 3. Floor wipers

Day 5. Laying Leg Lift x 30 followed by 20 of 10lb med ball drop at 5 sets

Day 6. Keep going back and forth between Leg Raises and Knees to Elbows

Day 7. 100 sit ups for time.

Re: Ab Workouts

Preferably choose exercises that have some carryover and overlap into other moves you'll be performing, such as the thrusters, overhead squats, DLs, knees to elbows, etc, that others have mentioned.
Flipping tractor tyres does my midsection a treat.

Stay away from things like endless situps, crunches and leg lifts. Time is better spent on more compound moves

Re: Ab Workouts

Now that I think about it, thats a good point. Maybe I'm still a bit poisoned by FM 21-20.
