Re: Ab Workouts

Front squats and cleans seem to do it for me.

Re: Ab Workouts

I do the GHD sit-ups during WU.

Sometimes I'll do floorwipers (5 rnds 135 lb barbell @ 20 reps or 165 lb barbell 3-5 rnds @ 20 reps), varied K2E, L-sits, unanchored straight legged-situps. I randomly throw these in w/ another exercise, as a mini-WOD.

Hanging wipers are killer too. I'm hoping to do those strict for reps at some point.

Yes they are. I like to switch between those and regular K2Es. I'm usually really fatigued by the time I get to them and I can only do about 20 reps max per round.

That is just a plain awesome way to put it.

THANK YOU! I was wondering why my abs were so sore today. Yesterday was a day off...but Monday, I did Fran for the first time. Previously, I had only done thrusters as skill work, so not that many. Zowie...I guess thrusters kick my abs also.

Re: Ab Workouts

In the past couple weeks I tried the 100 ring pushup workout referred to here for time:

http://www.ringtraining.com/pages/ar...100pushups.htm WFS

It was no surprise to me that my arms, shoulders and chest were cashed from this. But what did surprise me was how fried my entire core was. My abs were sore for days. But, It's a ton of stabilization work so I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised. Jacknifes on the rings are no joke.

I understand that I can just do all of these exercises, but what would I do them at? 3x10? 3x15? Max for time?

Re: Ab Workouts

How about 3 rounds for time of 25 Knees to elbows, 20 GHD sit ups, 15 Over head Squats at 95# 10 Kettle bell swings 1.5 pood and 5 dead lifts at 275#... if that doesn't make your abs work... well then you are either wicked strong or doing it wrong...
