Vin Diesel

I saw Triple X yesterday and it was sweet. I heard that the Ice Cube messed up the 2nd and performed bad on it. I asked a friend and he said the 2nd was pretty good. I heard that Vin Diesel and the director are coming together with a 3rd one. I also heard right after I finish watching Chronicles of Riddck about months and for the first time, that they are planning a 4th Riddick movie under a smaller organization than the COR. But never heard from that again. Seems like they forgotten about it. Any thoughts, comments, complaints?

Re: Vin Diesel

the problems with Chronicles of Riddick and xXx were the sequels did poorly at the box office. I enjoyed CoR but only caught a few glimpses of xXx2. Diesel has mentioned another possible Riddick movie in development after the latest game was released.

I enjoyed TripleX, especially the soundtrack. Very fun movie as I've pretty much got bored of Bond, especially Brosnan though the last 2 have reinvigorated the series.

I never seen it. Ice Cube in it just didn't seem right in the trailers back then. Why didn't they just wait until Vin come back from his Riddick project? They've just ruin what could have been a perfectly good series. Now it's all messed up and weird especially with the title retuen of xander cage. It better be good.

I actually didn't like the latest Bond, watched it opening day and Netflix'ed it when it came out. It was a good movie, but it was a horrible Bond movie, for these reasons:

1. No gadgets - IMO, Bond w/o gadgets and Q is like CrossFit w/o ME days. And we all know what that is (or isn't)!
2. The Bond girl wasn't very hot.
3. A Bond super-villain should never roll around in a Ford Edge.

If it was just a movie about a British spy not named Bond, I would have appreciated it. I really hope they just made it like so to showcase his quest for revenge and the next one is more Bondish.

I was very impressed with Taken.

Re: Vin Diesel

Taken was very badass.

No hot gals in Bond. I was telling the boys in gym all Bond movies have 2 gals per movie, typically one good girl and one evil which Erik commented on.

Can't speak to #2, but as to the other elements, that was the point of "rebooting," as they called it, the Bond franchise... if you watch "Dr. No" or "From Russia With Love," they're just spy movies. Bond doesn't have any gadgetry that a spy wouldn't actually have. No laser-beam watches, no jet-packs, no invisible cars. All of the books are like that. The idea with "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace" was to get back to making more realistic spy films. But for those who are fans of Lotuses that are also submarines and BMWs you can drive with your cell phone (which also happen to have a little buzzsaw in the BMW logo in perfect anticipation of the baddies stringing a steel cable in your path, what the was that about?), then they're not really Bond films any more.

They did the same thing with "Star Trek." It's great, it's very entertaining, it's going to reinvigorate the franchise, but it's completely different and for those who've been fans for a long time, it's not really Star Trek anymore.

Re: Vin Diesel

IMHO Vin Diesel's best movie was "Iron Giant"

The new Bond movies are cool and definitely different.

I loved the original Star Trek stuff and the movie is awesome. Its just Star Trek for my kids. Besides JJ Abrams makes fun movies.
