Absence of Metabolic Decline after Injury

I tore my meniscus last summer. I tried to get back to WOD's too soon and pulled a hammy and my lower back on thrusters. Then I just got sidetracked and was non-compliant on Paleo/Zone to say the least. Work took on a lot of priority but here's the deal. I really didn't lose much muscle or gain much weight. My pullups are down considerably but are much better than when I started. I believe that the neuroendocrine response Coach discusses has had a residual effect. I believe in the program more than ever although the suck factor right now for me is very high.

Neuroendocrine is not really responsible for maintaing muscle mass.... that's genetics and a good diet. Same with the pullups if they're better DUE to the increased muscle mass.

Neuroendocrine hormonal response is induced by high intensity, and the hormones normalize with training within ~48-72 hours... if you're overreaching then maybe a week or two at the most. So it's definitely not what you're talking about.


Also, what are you doing for rehab?

You should be working eccentrics for your hamstring pull as well. High rep eccentrics like SLDL negatives, good morning negatives, etc.
