Re: Matt's Log

WOD: Back Squats 3-3-3-3-3
225-245-265-265-275(PR)

Set my 3rep PR today at 275lbs which is only 20lbs less than my 1rep PR so im thinking that will be going up before too long.

My spotter said i was getting good depth on the lift but that i was still putting to much weight on my toes. Guess ill start really concentrating on keeping my weight back.

Re: Matt's Log

Nice weights, Matt!

What kind of shoes are you wearing? A lot of issues can be corrected by wearing weightlifting shoes, chuck taylors, VFF's or just going plain old barefoot. Plus, the weight feels a little easier. I prefer barefoot, but bought VFF's (awesome) and just started incorporating chuck taylor's in also. I like my CF shoes collection to match my regular shoe collection - constantly varied and dependent on my mood.

Time for me to hit the gym, have a good day!

Re: Matt's Log

Oh im wearing great weight lifting footwear... and by great i mean terrible! Harley and i go lift in the middle of the day so im always in ACU's with my Boots on. the increased heel height probably doesnt help my form very much.
Oh well, i can only work with what ive got!

Re: Matt's Log

warmed up with two hours of football then went to the gym exhausted. Worked some core exercises. was on an extremely tight schedule today due to mandatory fun time with work. still tired from the heavy squats yesterday, the muscles are tired but nothing hurts!

Re: Matt's Log

Rest day yesterday was wonderful.
Hit Murph hard this morning with a time of 39:30. Didnt wear my body armor, it weighs 45lbs and im not so great at weighted pull ups. eventually i will be doing this with my body armor, i think next time ill try it without the Ballistic plates, and the side plates, and the ammo, and the neck protector, and the groin protector. ill leave the first aid kit on just in case....
