WOD's on graves

so i just switched over to a grave yard schedule 1930-0730. i know there are other crossfitters on this type of schedule and i am curious as to when you do your wod's, before or after work. i go to crossfit sonoma county on my days off in the evening but on the days i work i would not be able to make the evening class. the thought of hitting a wod right after work does not sound too appealing but i am goin to give it a shot. any input would be great.

Re: WOD's on graves

William,
I work an overnight shift a few times a week, but it's only 2300-0700. Anyway, I like to get my WOD in before work. That way, by the time work is done, I'm tired enough that I can actually fall asleep.
The one piece of info we're missing is what class times your affiliate offers. I know mine has a few late afternoon/early evening classes, so it's not too hard to get in. But, if a morning time is more feasible for you, can you wake up a few hours before you have to go into work? Get your nutrition solid throughout the shift, and you should be ready to hit it hard when you get off!

Re: WOD's on graves

Hey William

I used to work from 2200 to 0700 for 7 days of a 5 week roster.

Workouts after the shift were a no go until the 6th or 7th day.... but by then it was time to start adjusting back to the normal shifts.

I don't know how rosters work where you are... if you are permanently on that shift, workouts afterwards could be ok, but I wouldn't recommend them otherwise. I personally find myself just too tired to do them at max intensity, thereby defeating the whole puropse.

don't mean to hijack, but when I read the title, I thought someone was referring to putting a WOD on their gravestone. THAT my friends is hardcore.

Re: WOD's on graves

so my options after work are a 8am class which i can make, otherwise the other option is 6pm which would make me late for work. well futher down the road i am sure they will have something like 5pm other wise i will continue to hit the eveining on my days off and try a couple of 8am after work and see how it goes. thanks for the input.

Grave stone shoulder for time.

I had thoughts of Jim belushi doing thrusters instead of dancing on his cast members graves.

Re: WOD's on graves

Based on the title I thought this guy hung out in a graveyard and did his workouts on top of graves, so disrespectful, I had to come in and see what he was actually talking about, heh.

FWIW,
You aren't limited to only doing CF at your local affiliate. There are countless other options for the nights you are working.
