Obviously my MetCon fell apart over the summer. Time to step it up!

I felt kinda woobbly (sp?) before and during the workout. Part nerves for sure, but I'm not sure whether the other part was lingering illness, my diet experiment, or a combo of the two. Either way, I've gotta improve on this.

Also, riding a road bike home, with it's forward-leaning position, was very very tough with my noodle-ized arms.

Starting low, will build up. I'm bothered by how I can push jerk more weigh than I can squat. What's wrong with me?

This is the heaviest I've ever done Grace. Had troubles balancing my jerk midway through. I was reduced from power cleans to deadlifts and hang power cleans for the last 5 reps. This is definately a different workout when it's on the heavy end. Next time has to be better, because this one was so bad!

10x30 sec spring, 45 sec jog

Deadlift: 5x5:
181, 181, 181, 181, 181

On my overhead squats, I think I'm afraid to put the bar back far enough, so I still put weight on the balls of my feet vs the heels. My deadlift form feels good: weight on heels and a pull from the hamstrings, not the quads. My deadlift has continued to go up since my SS period ended, which is some encouragement I really need at the moment.

The CFJ article which shows a picture of a guy in a full unweighted squat with elbows inside his knees gave me some form suggestions. I was much more able to use my hamstrings instead of quads to lift the weight. I'm shooting for a 5lb increase per week in all of my MEBB lifts, so I'm glad today went well. Deadlifting 186 on Saturday for 5x5 will be a PR for me if I make all the reps. Looking forward to it!

Oh, and it kills me to squat next to guys who start out at 135 doing 1/4 squats, then progress to 2-300 something doing 1/8th ROM. I should care less aobut what other people do...

I really needed this mental boost. I would have liked to had a coach correcting my OHS form, since I was shaky and erring on leaning forward instead of risking falling backward. However, who doesn't get a little shaky on metcon OHS? Tomorrow I will tackle another favorite workout: the 1-3-5 press workout. The last couple times I have done it have been disappointing: I hope to raise my total this time!

1-3-5 Press workout

Press: 95, 105, 105, 105, 105
Push Press: 115, 115, 115, 115, 115
Push Jerk: 115, 115, 115, 115, 115

For a repxweight total of 5115 lbs. This is 175 lbs more than the beginning of August, but 75 less than in May. The big killer here was I didn't have much strength left when I got to the push jerks, so I couldn't add weight over the PP like I did in May. Still, I'm happy with the short-term improvement.
