First workout since Cert

Went to the gym for the first time since my level 1 cert and decided to try some cleans with what I had learned.

In the past, I'd come away with a bruised collar bone and sore shoulders from slamming the bar in the catch phase. I used my arms to pull the bar up instead of pulling myself under.

Wow, what a difference. Deadlift, open up the hips, big shrug, pop and drop, aggressive elbows, rack the bar. No bruises, no soreness.

I can't believe how good it felt. It feels totally different with some knowledge of technique. There's a sense of fluidity that I wasn't aware of before.

I also realized I have a lot of practicing to do.

Again, a big thank you to all the instructors at the Oakland Cert who made us clean those damn medicine balls a million times. The Nicoles, Jolie, Bubba, Dave, Rob, Adrian, and everyone else.
