No-sugar diet

For medical reasons it was recommended I go on a no-sugar diet for a week or so. Problem is, I'm not exactly sure what that means and was given no description. I know this means cutting the cupcakes and eating lots of leafy greens and lean meats, but what about fruits? Eggs? Are there certain nuts or vegetables I should be avoiding? I've also heard dairy is not ideal but I read different things on different websites. And again, legumes, beans, oats--these are low-glycemic but on some places I read they should still be excluded from no-sugar diets. Is this true?

This diet seems to be practically Paleo, but depending on the website I read I get Paleo-friendly foods that are supposedly not good for a very low-sugar diet.

Has anyone else tried a no-sugar diet? What did you eat?

Re: No-sugar diet

It probably means "added sugar". All carbohydrates are carbon, oxygen, hydrogen which are broken down to glucose in the body.

If you eat something that is alive (fruits, veggies) most are low glycemic index, and almost all are low glycemic load.

Paleo guidelines in a Zone diet is definitely no-sugar.
