I just picked up a Hampton bar for $25. It's the 700# test bar, black. It's straight and undamaged except for some rust. Does anyone know the best way to remove it?
Also, would it be helpful/possible to ggrease the sleeves? It spins very nicely right now.

Try using steal wool to get the rust off.

Blue Wonder and a brass brush (nylon even might work).

I've used it on guns that got a few rust spots. It doesn't hurt the finish. It does, however, reak.
