CFWU x 3

Five rounds for time of:
Row 500 meters
45 pound Thrusters, 30 reps

subs - did the 400m run, as i have no rower!!!

time = 21:20

Was REALLY wishing i had a rower today!! Not because i'm better at it than running because that's probably a toss up, but because rowing is done INSIDE the gym and it was a brutal 105 degrees for my 400m runs today!! As you can imagine, i had nothing left when i was done!!

CFWU x 2

"Elizabeth"
21-15-9 reps of:
Clean 135 pounds
Ring dips

subs - none

time = 12:31 PR by 2:31!!!!!!!!!!

My training partner missed the workout, so i was left to my own devices to generate the intensity, and it must have worked. Granted, when we did this on july 30th, i was a little sick, but 2 and a half minutes is still a big improvement!!!

Anthony- Thanks!! And congrats on that 555 deadlift...i finally got the link to work, and i must say, very impressive!!! I'm going to try to get back up to 500 by the end of the year, so slow down a bit!!

CFWU x 2

Overhead squat 3-3-3-3-3-3-3 reps

75 x 3
95 x 3
115 x 3
125 x 3
135 x 3
145 x 3
160 x 3

Sometimes the days where i least feel like working out i have my strongest days...i just don't get it!! My plan was to work up to a max triple at 145, but when 145 got there it felt really light. Therefore, i thought i would go for broke and try 160. Sure enough, that was easy also. I definitely had another 15+ lbs in me today! Lookin' forward to the next time.

I also did sets of the ab wheel thing with a barbell between every set of the overhead squats for some more mid-section fun!!

Slow down? Did you see my last pull? It was slower than cold molasses going up hill!

Excellent work on the OHS ... you may have me beat there. :-(

CFWU x 2 (minus pull-ups)

Complete as many rounds as you can in twenty minutes of:
75 pound Sumo deadlift high-pull, 21 reps
12 L-pull-ups

subs - none

rounds = a whopping 5!!!!!

Not an impressive total, but nobody to blame but myself. I knew going in that today would be a day i would have to scale the intensity back a bit, but i was still gunning for 7 rounds. The reason i was scaling back a bit was due to some pretty extreme soreness in my abs from the barbell/ab wheel things i did yesterday! The soreness is still here which has me a little fearful of all the sit-ups tomorrow, as well!!!

Anthony - Was it slow...very slow..?? yes, but it still got there!!! And that means you'll be on to the next weight!!! A slow pull, yes, but slowing down you are not!!! Congrats again, though, on some excellent work!!

CFWU x 3 (minus sit-ups and back extensions)

For time:

50 Back Extensions
50 Sit-ups
40 Back Extensions
40 Sit-ups
30 Back Extensions
30 Sit-ups
20 Back Extensions
20 Sit-ups
10 Back Extensions
10 Sit-ups

subs - used abmat on the floor for sit-ups and a roman chair for back extensions.

time = 20:54

Not a very fast time, but a very sore back today!!! Back extensions were definitely the limiting factor in my time, so i need to work on the deficiency!

John- looks good! I gotta get one up here for myself also!!

Thursday 060817

CFWU x 3 (sub'd dislocates for the pull-ups)

For time:
50 Wall-ball shots (20 lb ball)
50 L Pull-ups
35 Wall-ball shots (20 lb ball)
35 L Pull-ups
20 Wall-ball shots (20 lb ball)
20 L Pull-ups

subs - none

Time = 30:37

This took a lot less time than i anticipated, especially after how poorly the L Pull-ups went the other day!! Good news is that they felt much better, and easier this time. I had no chunk smaller than 4. I'm pretty much attributing this to the fact that my abs weren't already sore this time!! My lower back from back extensions is a different, and VERY sore story, but the abs are now fine.

Really looking forward to the presses tomorrow!! Not because i'm feeling particularly strong, but because i've become so fond of heavy overhead pressing and i feel we don't do it very often.

Anthony - correction, you beat me at one metcon workout....and SMOKED me in the back extensions/sit-ups!! A fine job!! I need to get my in gear!
