Triple Extension and Bicycle Racing

I am curious what effect tripe extension power has in terms of bicycle racing (Crits, Time Trials, Road Races)? Does it have any effect on the normal pedal stroke, or does it only translate when one is out of the saddle sprinting or climbing. I am trying to decide how much 3-ext work to include on my strength days when I am not on the bike.

Re: Triple Extension and Bicycle Racing

Doesn't seem like quite the same motion, though there may be carry-over. Part of the stroke in cycling is a "pull" rather than a push, and I don't believe the ankle extends (it's held isometric).
