I would find a new coach, may seem harsh but thats like prepping for a Crossfit competition by just jumping rope KNOWING youll have double unders. Need to practice like youre going to play!

Who are your coaches?

Haha, well, it was a fantastic learning experience. I weighed in at 108.2. My first squat wasn't quite low enough, the second one, I got so excited about hitting depth that I racked the bar without waiting for the command, and I got my third at 125lbs, but that's 20lbs below my PR (I have a terrible squat) so I was disappointed. As for my bench-- the guys above are right and I regret not practicing a pause bench more before the meet. I got my first one-- 85lbs, but misjudged how much more difficult the pause makes the movement, so I jumped my second attempt to 95lbs and failed twice. My deadlift I made a third attempt at 220lbs, but it felt light. On Monday, I PR'd at 235lbs in my own gym, so I underestimated myself at the meet...

I go over the experience and my reflections in greater detail on my blog here:

I think I intend to try another meet in the spring... I've also started squatting with a low bar position now, which should help a bit once I'm acclimated to it

This is precisely why we suggested making your 1st attempt for each lift very easy. If you have runs on the board, so to speak, it makes you less likely to make mistakes on subsequent attempts.

220 dead isnt too bad for a female your size.

Was there many females there? Usually only a couple at the meets I've competed in :/

I think there were around fifteen. They all seemed more experienced than I was, but they were all very helpful and supportive. I liked the environment, and the feel of the competition. I was entirely thrown off the first time I stepped onto the platform with the lights and the music and the judges scrutinizing you from all three sides, but I loved it by the end
