I was doing front squats today about 30mins into my workout after trying out some olympic lifts. Up until today I hadn't really pushed myself with front squats (I back squat full extension a touch above 200). Was on my 4th set at 135 when on the first rep at the bottom I felt a sharp/warm pain in the soft tissue area to the right and just above my groin. I felt the spot and there was a fairly tense muscle but nothing too bad. The pain went away so I tried to do another set but it came back immediately. Should I be worried about this? I ended up finishing my workout (box jumps and pullups mostly) and the pain is gone, but it was scary and made me think hernia.
thanks much. |

Might just be a tight muscle that you have pulled. Playing hockey for 30+ years...I've had my share of groin pulls. Stretch your groin, hip flexors, hamstrings as those are probably problem areas.
I'm not a doctor...so if you find a lump and are in pain days from now...you may want to have it checked out. |
