Adrian,
You may have a "normal" (http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/...roinhernia.htm )hernia, or you may have a sports hernia http://www.med.umich.edu/1libr/sma/sma_sporthrn_sma.htm . If you think it is a sports hernia, I highly suggest you look into an Intermediate or higher practitioner of Primal Reflex Release Techniques (www.thePRRT.com). Get it checked out to get a diagnosis, waiting sure won't help you or your training in the long run. |

I've had 3 of the normal (inguinal?) hernia. You should be able to tell because there is a bulge through the abdomen wall. You can try coughing while holding your hand over the area where you feel the pain. If you feel something bulge out, then it's probably a hernia. Or if you can see a bulge.
As I recall, I never had any pain from the hernia. It's a tearing in the abdomen wall where there is a weak spot due to the rather strange fact that your testicles descend from your body in the womb (i.e., pass through the wall). Otherwise, could be any number of other things...I'd agree that you should get it checked out if you don't think it's just a passing muscle strain. |
