Pat how would you like a CF training partner for the weekend? In a few months time!
Managed to get a cheap flight $89 each way and mailed off my forms for the OL course so i will be in Brisy for that weekend, hope to catch up with you in person there.

Fiona

Nice work Fiona!

Would be great if we end up with three aussie crossfitters who have done the oly lifting course.

I sent of my paperwork for the NSW course on Friday.

Now all we need to do is book a crossfit contiki tour to get to a CF cert...

Sounds great, Fiona!! Looking forward to it - both the OL course and meeting another fellow CrossFitter.

The National Weightlifting champs are on in Brisbane in late October... same place as the OL course!! Finally, there's a good reason for living in Brisbane! We have an embarassment of Oly Lifting riches...!

Don,

That CF cert is on my TODO list - when doing the planning, give us some time to get the $$ together, because I definitely want in!!

Yeah Pat for sure, I'm not going to be jumping on the next plane but i'd like to do the CF cert sometime in late 2006.

Its just a pity the OLY course and the S&C course don't count for fitness CECs, I still have to do some BS fitball or nutrition crap to keep my cert 4 current :-(

Pat it should be fun... When in Oct is the OL comp? I'm also planing to come down to bris about Oct 26th i think for a Gi/NO Gi BJJ comp (still waiting for details on that)so we can possibly catch up then too.

Don, Im in to on the CF cert thing.
I have to to check with Fitness QLD about the CEC's for OL but from what you say it don't look good :-(.
And I have to get them for AQUA, PT and Group Exercise.
Do the Powerbag CEC's (8 or 10 points, i think), pretty dressed up sandbag but at least its something you will probably use crossfit wise.

I got a call from the NSWWA today about my course and they said that there is actually a comp on the same weekend as the course so i'll get to watch that as well.

Might take my camera and try to get some good action sequences.

Fiona, where did you do the powerbag course and how much was it?

It's either that or the boxing CECs and i've seen their instructors in action. I mean honestly when would you ever sit on the ground and punch straight up!

Don
BodyMotion are the people you need to contact www.bodymotion.com.au Courses are in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, cover speed and agility and powerbag. Thats all i know, no idea on price or times.

Straight Up or upper cuts??, We do a drill like that in the cardiokickboxing class at my gym.. kind of. The puncher sits down, pad holder stands behind them with focus mitts in front of forhead and they work upper cuts, single, cross overs and together, fast and hard, Really canes the delts but you are right no practical boxing applications ....... however the faces pulled by the punchers are priceless:-)
Its an expeted drill on a friday nights now...
As are Tabata punches now, when ever i take class.
