Just stumbled across the official symbols of the olympic sports for Beijing 2008 (which I hope to go to!).

http://en.ce.cn/National/pic-news/20..._8040885.shtml

Some of them made me laugh, I especially like the judo one, but what about basketball? Is that all the sport is now? dunking? I guess it makes for a good symbol...

Is anyone else planning on going? If so, what sports do you hope to see.

I'd love to see the track events, as well as weightlifting, maybe judo and wrestling too.

Uh, there's at least one blatant mistake in there too.
They have gymnastics, and "artistic gymnastics". The artistic gymnastics icon has a ribbon. That would be "rhythmic gymnastics". artistic is the common floor, vault, rings, etc.

Oh, and what sport is "athletics"?

Bah.

What I want to know is how much they paid for these symbols (a lot, I'm guessing), and how I get that job in 4 or 8 years...

They don't seem to have put a whole lot of effort into those symbols.
