Just wondering how you handle Holiday Parties. Do you eat a snack ahead of time like the Women's Fitness Magazines tell you to? Do you bring along your own food like Body For Life tells you to? Do you say, to heck with it and eat as much as whatever you want? Or what. Interested in any advice.

Being on holiday for me means letting my hair down so to speak, I would indulge be happy and get back on the wagon on your return.
Enjoy the holiday! |

I take the ingredients for a tuna salad and a fruit salad, just in case the food on offer is too far out of my comfort zone. And lots of mineral water too.

Women's Fitness Magazines have something more than hot models working out in pictures? Wow....learn something new every day.

actually, they do have some ideas. only problem is that, like men's health and other such arsehattery, the suggestions are typically far too carby. they usually try to combat the high-fat nature of most holiday foods with a different macronutrient, but in most cases i've seen, they go the wrong way.
cassi -- if you really don't want to have to loosen your belt after eating too heavy, just have a healthy snack beforehand. that way, you can get just as full, but it won't all be bad stuff. |

Well, this is probably not the answer you are looking for... I am a trainer, and as such, it is important to me to set the proper example. I don't eat the typical Christmas pies nor cookies. I will pick the proper portions as I travel through the Christmas buffet.
Friends will always say things like, "Come on, Skip. It's Christmas! Dig into those cookies!!" However, I stick to my guns.....I know, I'm boring! Discipline, Baby!! www.mtbakercrossfit.blogspot.com |

I too stick to my guns. try to eat something before you go and then try to stick to the raw veggie crudities! Or offer to bring something for the buffet that you can enjoy as well!

Not sure abou airborne
I say Royal Marines Commando creme de la creme - ea anything that moves when hungry ha. This is how I used to live. Not anymore, but letting yourself slide for a week or two doesnt matter, it only spurs you on to be..... More disciplined. I believe that our American cousins would shout out a hoo yah |

For me, 'sliding' is weakness! That's like saying missing the shot improves your aim! I believe your 'American cousins' would shout out "What the ****!!!! :nono0000: www.mtbakercrossfit.blogspot.com |
