Showers

Could be a bit of a silly question but i must ask...

If you were opening your 1st box and its an industrial unit as such and doesnt have these facilities what do you do?

Im sure people want to have a bit of a wash up after a session or prior to going to work after hitting a workout. If your on a limited budget how do you get round this or is it a no brainer and you must get them installed, or do people generally not bother?

Lucky for me in my place, the bathroom had not yet been built and the lease included one. For a small increase to the lease price, they agreed to install 2 bathroom, 1 having a shower stall. Was worth it. Shower didn't get used a lot, but people were certainly glad it was there. (and the few that did use it sure appreciated it) To add one after the fact would have been prohibitive.

This. Just because you are charging someone $150/month for a membership doesn't mean you have to provide them with a shower.

We have a shower, it's costly.

If you're on a limited budget, there are much better ways to spend your money. Some people as for it, but less than 5% of our members use it. It's nice to have, but far from essential.

Also consider that as you grow, you may be moving into a larger space if needed. You can't take the shower with you, that's an investment that you will unlikely see a ROI in a few years.

IMO, limited budget = No shower.

We were able to negotiate 2 showers into our buildout. Gotta play tough with your landlord. Negotiate hard.

You can negotiate whatever you'd like. We negotiated $15k towards build out. It was not towards any one expense in particular though.
