So back in December I had surgery which involved some work on both pec muscles. Anyway long story short I can barely do one pushup and pullups are are also not happening either. I want to start back on Crossfit now that the doc has cleared me so I was wondering if anybody had any ideas of what to substitute in for the WODs on days that revolve around pullups and whatnot until I can get back up? Or exercises to help rebuild the muscle loss? Really appreciate the help. Very glad to be back at this even though I see a very long recovery road ahead.

Can you simply hang from the bar? If so, try doing simply shoulder activation exercises at bottom of the hang (going from passive hang to active hang) as well as use a stool to get to top pullup position and hold at top as long as you can and fight it all the way down (without collapsing - that would straing the shoulders and surgery site)

How is it going? I wanted to check in.
I am also post surgery but for my low back. We gotta keep each other going. It can seem like a long way to full on crossfit after surgery but it is do-able. |

Wow! Thanks Beth. I am still not full into Crossfit yet, going very slowly. But I have been training for a marathon and have been able to do more and more pushups as the days go by. Plan to jump back into xfit (slowly hopping would be more like it) after my race. How are things with your post surgery?
