Official 2019 Open and Games thread**
Today the open starts. Currently over 250k sign ups with 4 days to go. Many questions and big changes. What are your plans for the open?
Mine are to have fun One and done Do it on Friday and stay away from looking at the leaderboard Be more involved helping the gym with scores of the athletes/members Try to inspire peeps Offer encouraging words and cheer them on My guesses for the workouts - Some time period segmented workouts- ascending weight each segment passed. Some of the Girls workouts in variation. Like Diane with a heavy twist last year Maybe a super simple workout like 7 min single exercise workout like burpees again. Part A metcon and Part B heavy lift 10:00 amarap of dubs New movements- Rope climb, pistols (not likely) , Bench press? Good luck everyone who is doing it. |

Taking part just for myself and going to have fun.
I look at it as 5x2 tough workouts over 5 weeks. As tough as I want to make it. I want to see strict MU, pull ups, HSPU and an increase in weights for some movements. Otherwise I will just take it as it comes. |

Alex,
Kinda hope that it hits some of my major weaknesses so I can work on them and also possibly get them out of the way for some good ones in the AGMQ. |

signed up again!!!!! seems I cannot help myself..even though my training has been very very interrupted in the past year or so.
aims: 1. Focus on one WOD at a time 2. Be mindful 3, Have fun and enjoy the challenges 4. encourage fellow masters 5. support those I know who are completing as elites!!!!!!! 6. did I say have fun? 7. revel in the fact that at 68 I still do this and love it cheers Helen |

19.1 was something for everyone, nothing special technically.
19.2 I believe will be the first seperator of the pack. I think this will be more technical and more weight. Maybe a repeat of 18.3 as this really split the pack up last year. |

You don't want to drop the hammer on the masses before they sign up. HEHE. I do believe that 19.2 will be more technically difficult. Maybe not a full hammer but at least T'ing up the nail.

Was a good call to have the time extend on 19.2 to 8 min. More of a workout for the peeps.

Yes someone like me needs to work on my reps on squat clean. With so many doing the same workout and some data from 2016. Its a good way to find out where you are.
Homework from my coach. Turn off social media, don't watch the workout announcement. Don't talk about or know about the workout till I arrive at the gym 90 min prior to doing it. And keep it off, not check the leader board. I have planned some book reading. Reading "Mind Gym" by Gary Mack right now. Its a good one. Favorite quote so far is - "When you have fun, it changes pressure into pleasure. |
