Freddys Revenge!!!

Anyone see this in the journal and care to tackle it. I did and it took me 15 minutes. A couple of things ive learned from it is that i need to dip alot more on my jerk, will practice and become more efficient at the jerk. Also take a small break right after the burpees because coming out of burpees back to the push jerk just plain sucked, i was lit up. We had 2 more guys at our gym do it, they got 8 and 10 minutes, i have some work to do.

"Freddys Revenge"
5rds

5 185# from rack to overhead, ill just assume the jerk for everyone
10 burpees

Re: Freddys Revenge!!!

Definitely hitting it this week. I'm dreading the second set after the burpees, it seemed to be an overall "WTF" !

They also said doing it from behind the head is legit. That can be very fast but a little risky in the last rounds I think.

Re: Freddys Revenge!!!

I wasnt comfortable at all going behind the head but anyway you can get it. Going in the front gives me more practice for my jerk cause i want to get a higher clean and jerk. I can do 30 185# clean and jerks for time, granted not very fast, but i havent been able to break into the 200's for the jerk yet. Im really not comfortable droppping under that much weight but thats something ill have to get over.

Re: Freddys Revenge!!!

Wonder if split jerks would be a good idea. Slower, but more power, so possibly less rest and a quicker time?

If I try it again, I'm going the route of Split Jerks just for a comparison. I would also like to try behind the head for maybe the first 3 rounds if I ever do this with a rack. All of mine had to be Cleaned which ate up a lot of time and energy once things were heavily broken.

2nd set of Overhead Pushing/Pressing is very much so a WTF moment.

As Rxed: 9:50

Re: Freddys Revenge!!!

damn; I sure as heck won't be doing it as rx'd; 185# is closing in on 1.5 x BW for me. brian's 135# sounds more realistic.

Re: Freddys Revenge!!!

I did it in 28.40.

to put my time into context I had to hit a pb just to do the weight as recommended (and I had already done that days C&J's that morning plus another Workout) so I was delighted with it- fun workout!

Re: Freddys Revenge!!!

If you are doing multiple behind the neck jerks like this how do you safely lower it back to your shoulders for the next rep? I find this very awkward/dangerous.
