Not so fun question

Ok for the second time in a year, I have had bloody urine. Last time it may (may because the uroligist isnt sure) have been related to an intense workout (hundreds of box jumps, tire flips, penis measuring). This time it just happened and the most impact I have had was practicing double unders a couple days ago, then the recretion of the final WOD from the games, CFT, and before Angie I noticed it. Has anyone else noticed this? Sports blood is normally associated with endurance running, but related to weight lifting and metcon? Anyone?

Throwing around an Internet diagnosis of rhabo based on the tiny bit of information that we have is irresponsible at best.

Jerry - Yes, please have it checked out by a professional. It's the only safe play.

I seconded your suggestion of seeing a doctor. I disagree with you planting in his mind that he might have rhabdo, particularly on the trivial amount of information that the OP provided. Let the doc take care of that.

Re: Not so fun question

Hold up, first off- I have seen a urologist, have been tested and looked at from the inside out (no fun by the way)

Second - I will see the doc tomorrow,

Third-We all know the medical community has very little formal training in exercise, and very little experience in the effects of intense excersise.

Lastly- I ask the people in this forum because there is a multitude of experience here in many disciplines and while I hope no one has or is experiencing anything similiar if they have they may have found a more satisfactory diagnosis than I have.

(Oh, I have no other symptoms of rhabdo, really not my worry)
I just want to track down an answer

Re: Not so fun question

Bloody urine is different from rhabdo (more brownish color)

Stil you should get that checked out ASAP....

both aren't good although if it is rhabdo it can be fatal... so... yeah.

I don't see the negative of giving him the worst case scenario.

Rhabdo wasn't put forth as a worst case scenario. The way that it was stated was tantamount to telling the OP directly that he definitely had rhabdo.

It would have been better to say something like "you could have anything from kidney stones to rhabdo. Have it checked out."

I have had headaches a few times after my workouts. That doesn't mean I have a brain tumor.

Re: Not so fun question

If the urologist looked and didn't find anything structurally wrong then perhaps you need a referal to a Nephrologist. Could be a more serious kidney disorder or bleeding related to inflammation. Definitely have it checked out a little more thoroughly. I wouldn't want to speculate about your problem but does it occur with all vigorous exercise or does it seem to be related to jumping (double unders, box jumps, etc.)?
