repairing skin damage from sun burn

After your skin peels from sun burn. What do folks use to repair your skin tissue ? I'm thinking something natural from say a natural herbs type store. Any suggestions ?

Re: repairing skin damage from sun burn

Time and hydration. And yeah, in the short term, aloe... back in the day, my mom had an aloe plant that she would break leaves off of, split open, and rub all over my sunburned skin. Slimy and gross, but it actually seemed to help.

Obviously it's too late, but because it's fun to harp, prevention is key. I've gotten so freakin' paranoid about sun damage that I wear long sleeves and a hat almost every day, and I'm in ENGLAND for goodness' sake.

(to be fair, I was in Albuquerque before this... it probably made more sense there).

It won't speed up the healing process, but it will aloe vera gel will keep the area moist without overdoing it. Really, the only natural method of healing is time.

Apple Cider Vinegar and/or witch hazel. Takes the sting out and prevents skin peeling.

To keep the skin hydrated you'll want to use a humectant like glycerin because it actually attracts water to it.
