Re: Jesse Emers- Get Beast

Rushed to the gym during a break in work

3 Rounds:
10 inc sit, 10 back ex, 10 dips

Complete as many rounds as you can in twenty minutes of:
5 Handstand Push-ups
10 L Pull-ups (Subbed tucking pullups)
15 Steps, Walking Lunge = 9 Rounds +5 HSPU,5 PU

**Last time I got 7 rounds, didnt sub tucks in for L's, but I also had to start doing jumping pullups for the last few rounds. This time I felt alot stronger. Next time I'll do the L pullups again. Definitely getting leaner/stronger, but I'm still not eating the way I would like to at work.

Re: Jesse Emers- Get Beast

Warmup:
Some stretches
95lb Power snatch, snatch
105lb PS,S
115lb PS

Snatch 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 (Subbed power snatch)
135,145,155,155,155,155,155

DB PS (each arm singles):
100lb,110lb

Weighted deadhang MUs:
+0,+25(PR),20,15,15,10,10,10,10

*Not feeling 100% today, drank some alcohols yesterday. Snatches are feeling stronger definitely. Not going to go heavy on full snatches until I get access to bumpers. Pulled a muscle in my mid/upper back during last MU. Its not too bad, just achy now when I move certain ways.

Re: Jesse Emers- Get Beast

Wasnt planning on doing any WOD. Just went to the gym to stretch out my back and move things around.

3 Rounds:
10 inc situps, 10 back x, 10 dips

Turkish Getups 60lbx5 each side
Waiter Walks 60lbx50 steps each side

Felt pretty good so-
Four rounds for time:
Run 400 meters
Rest 2 minutes
1:29 (11.5mph), 1:34 (10mph), 1:48 (9), 1:48 (9), 1:45 (9.3)

*Did those sprints on treadmill. Darn thing takes a while to speed up. Now I realize that I should have waited for it to get up to speed, then start. Kinda weird running on TM at fast speeds, I'll use a track next time.
Back was really sore this morning from pulling it yesterday. Got progressively better then went to the gym around 11. Back feels very good now, about 80%. Left side on both the TGUs and waiter walks was surprisingly weak. I think its due to my back. Really looking forward to nasty girls, one of my fav WODs. I'm gonna wait till my back is almost 100% then destroy.

Re: Jesse Emers- Get Beast

How do you manage to do MUs? You have rings?

I'm all for a track as well. Feels slightly idiotic to sprint on a treadmill. Sweet times regardless.

I do have rings, but I havent used them much yet. I do MUs on bars. I actually find bar MUs alot easier than ring ones at this point, just because I dont have much ring experience. I need to start using the rings more im just kinda lazy about setting them up and taking them down.

Re: Jesse Emers- Get Beast

MUs on bars??? Sounds basically impossible but if you say so... Then again, this is coming from the girl that's still scrounging up the strength for a decent pullup.

Re: Jesse Emers- Get Beast

A kipping bar muscle-up is supposedly easier, deadhangs harder on a bar. But try finding a pull-up bar with that kind of clearance.

What you say is probably true. The only problem with me is that I have very little ring experience and thats why its harder for me. I learned to kip a couple months after I learned to do a MU (on a bar). Kipping bar MUs are definitely easier for me (taking alot less upper body strength), but I don't really like the idea of them and I've really only done them once during the last 30MU WOD.

Yeah I'm pretty lucky that my gym has head clearance over the bar. Its kinda funnny because I was visiting other potential gyms in the area, and thats the sole reason that I didn't join one.
