Spinning Bike
Just picked up a new Spinning bike. A Pro Form SPX 290 on sale at Sports Authority. Not the best not the worst. I realize it's not CF but does anyone else indulge?

Not me, but my wife does and swears by it (Spinner Velo). She used it to lose about 20 lbs last year. The C2 we got now only sees use by me.

We do a once a week bike class in the mornings. Righ now we are doing spinervals videos and Sufferfest videos. Once the weather warms up we'll be going outside, but for now these are very good. We have the athletes bring their own bikes and trainers, though, not spin bikes.

i used to use mine all of the time when i was training for ironmans. now that i'm doing more heavy lifting with some short conditioning workouts i use it often for the conditioning.
tabata are always good--20 seconds all out, 10 seconds easy recovery. workout done in 4 minutes not including w/u and c/d. another good interval workout is 30 seconds on/30 seconds recovery. big gear intervals--60 seconds work making the resistance really hard (about 40 revolutions per minute) followed by 60 seconds easy recovery. the fun is endless! |

I've gone to the local gym and taken part in a few spin classes. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I think it's definitely something to do every once and a while.

LOVE SPINNING!!
My favorites are usually long hills, with increasing levels of resistance, for anywhere from 5 to ten minutes, then an all out sprint for about 1 or 2 minutes. I also love jumps from position 1 to 2, or 1 to 3, for counts of 4 or 8. ![]() |
