WOD 3/17/09 No, not again.

AUUURGE!, not another Murph!

My obit will say, "death by WOD!". Note to self, call medics before beginning this time.

oh yeah! I am hoping to break 40minutes this time. That last mile my legs are like jelly. Remembering and respecting the fallen hero.

Hmmf...

I only did

1 mile
50 pullups
100 pushups
150 squats
1 mile

I puked twice and it took me 47 minutes. What a bad, bad day..... Thats what I get for being lazy the last two weeks.

39:10 rx'd.

used treadmill...1st three rounds were 10-20-30 reps, then broke it up Cindy style. No pukie but definitely shook things up. So far, Murph is the toughest WOD for me. 2nd might be Mr Joshua.

Major props for those who puke and continue. Good going Rick!

Re: WOD 3/17/09 No, not again.

That was fun. First mile was at seven minutes. Then I did 10 pull-ups, 20 push-ups, 30 squats X 10 rounds; I messed up the first two rounds and only did five pull-ups. So, I ended up doing 10 pull-ups after the tenth round. Second mile was terribly slow and painful. I finished at 41 minutes. There was a one to two minute ridiculously fast walk from the upper track to the pull-up station though. Either way, it hurt and this was sans 20 lb weighted vest. I can't even imagine doing it with the extra weight right now.

52:00 for the whole thing. 5:20 for the initial mile...

I am seeing improvements in my pullups, which means I can beat out more per set, but I have a LOOOOONG way to go.

Thanks John.

I always feel better after I puke. Just hate that nasty after taste. Real winner of the day was while going down for my pushups, I put my hand in some puke from one of the guys who did Murph earlier. Nice..... I got something for him next time we work out.

Did you burn yourself out on that first mile? That's a pretty good time. I find I have to pace myself a little. If I go all out on the run it will take me a good bit to recover for the rest of the WOD.

Likewise, I have a long way to go. I noticed during this WOD, all my pull-ups were kipped. I usually go standard but the thought of 100 pull-ups... Sheesh!!!

Looking forward to the split-jerk WOD.

Re: WOD 3/17/09 No, not again.

Yes this is one workout to gird your loins for! When I saw that it was the WOD I kept making little excuses as to why I would not be able to do it that evening. However at 7.30pm I ventured out of my front door and was done, well and truly(!) by 8.06pm.Pull ups went from sets of 12 to sets of 5 after 60 of them and I think I had an out of body experience on the last 400m of the final mile! However the feeling of accomplishment was great as my wife looked at me and shook her head....

Re: WOD 3/17/09 No, not again.

Just finished my 1st sub 40:00 Murph...37:35. I could hardley drink water after, I felt like I was going to lose my lunch. Broke it into rounds of cindy and tried to start a new round every 45 seconds, which eventually fell to 1 round every minute. My pushups really started to get shakey because I did J.T. yesterday with no rest day in between. I have a 23 round cindy, but put those mile runs on each end and you're in for a good time. really happy with a PR. Last time was close to an hour for Murph.

Cheers all
Chris
