Time for a trip down to Cayman to come try it out?
Carl!!!! Yes I need to come back down there. I miss it and y'all were great!]

I don't look at this like exercise bands. More of rehab and keeping the shoulders & scaps stronger to prevent injury.

Re: Crossover Symmetry

In all seriousness that was the point though. Can you not accomplish all of that with normal exercise bands that you can buy at your local sports store for a fraction of the cost? What is better about these things other than a cool name a draw string backpack?

He said that he was going to have every member use it every day at his box - I saw that they installed 10 stations at each of his 2 boxes a month or 2 ago. Tommy isn't going to install something at his gyms that are gimmicky or don't produce results.

As a box owner I like it because it makes it easy for members which in turn keeps compliance high.
Really? What makes you think that he wasn't given some to endorse them?

Also, despite Mark's sarcasm, he's correct. You can get the same thing for under $100. The program is important, they are not magic bands. If you know what the problems are; granted most coaches would not; you can purchase bands and use a rig to create the same thing.

Re: Crossover Symmetry

Not looking for this to become a sarcasmfest post like 90% of what happens on this board so please don't take any of my responses out of context. I typically stay off the board for that reason.

Kyle asked if anyone had any experience using the product - I have and I like it.

Could the parts be sourced separately cheaper? Sure, they probably could. Then I would have to research and come up with my own protocol to give to my athletes - something I am not an expert on but I certainly could spend the time researching and asking our local PT's for some assistance. I like the convenience of what I get from them - our members are using it and like Brian said it is a good program. I haven't been to a huge number of other affiliates but I haven't seen a single one have their members do these exercises so it is not common to implement this.

I believe this company has been around for 5-10 years or more providing their system to MLB teams and players. They have recently started marketing towards CF athletes and affiliates - the CrossOver name isn't some cheap grab to be similar to CrossFit.

I don't have a dog in this fight - I was just giving an opinion on a product that I like and use. I have mentioned the post to one of the product managers in case he wants to jump in and add anything.

Re: Crossover Symmetry

I interned under Matt Brand at UCD's strength and conditioning program working with the football, basketball and baseball teams. He didn't use this exact brand but this style of scap training was a keystone of his program and that of almost every other D1 S&C program I've ever heard of. Injury prevention is the name of the game and this is how you do it. From the looks of it, you're getting a pretty decent deal on the package. A few sets of bands, grips, anchors and carabiners plus a few programs? Sure, you could do it a little cheaper but not much and you'd be guessing on the band tension, the way you grip the bands affects your movement so you're gonna want a decent grip device and the right programming makes all the difference.
Hmm... Think I'll get a couple for my box.

Re: Crossover Symmetry

Google structural balance. Like Jesse said, injury prevention. Also, this type of program/product lets you target the forgotten muscles

Re: Crossover Symmetry

I've used the Diesel Crew program a few times with great success in restoring proper shoulder function.
