Curious if anyone has/uses the Abmat for situps?

If so, is it worth the $30 or so, or would a rolled up towel work just as well?

Thanks,

Russ

Coach speaks very highly of the Abmat. From what I've seen, it's a pretty neat little item. You could probably make your own. I suppose it comes down to how much you're willing to spend on convenience.

Unequivocal YES.

FIrst of all it does give you a better range of motion while "supporting your back" in a good way - trust me it's not a "cheat" it's harder.

Second, my first couple reps would cost $50 at a chiropractor. I get a perfect back adjustment. Sounds just like what the chiro does.

I might need one of these. Just did some tabata situps yesterday and I've got a couple of bruises on my spine now.

Bill,

If us Chiros had to depend on Crossfitters to pay the bills, I for one would be living in a cardboard box. In other words, self-manipulate if you're able, there's plenty of back pain in the world.

Hope that didin't come off as a dig on chiros - it was meant to a compliment. That adjustment feels great when a chiro does it. The first time Iused the abmat after the OHS in the warm up and I got that nice rolling cracking down the back, I just went ahhhhh....I don't have any back pain, but it still feels great.

Bill,

Not at all. I'm actually in favor of foam rollers or other objects that will allow a "self-adjustment". Working with only MD's and no other Chiros, I've had to get creative myself!

Has anyone been in contact w/ the Abmat folks? I've tried ordering online, calling, and email with zero response. I'd like to order one but they sure make it hard.

I just ordered one and got it with no problems. Started using it and I definitely think it is worth the money.

Did you order online? And how long did it take to get delivered? Thanks for the help.
