Some beach workouts

Just got back from a caribbean vacay and had the pleasure of working out on the beach every day. Here are some workouts I did:

Sprints on the beach
10 seconds on/20 seconds off for 6 rounds

Sandbag Fran
21, 15, 9
Thrusters with a bag full of sand
Push-ups

Gringo Tabata

20 on/10 off of:

Air squats
Lunges
Pushups
Jump squats (BW only)

Sandbag throws

Throw a heavy bag as far as you can repeatedly for 10 minutes

Caribbean Crush

5 rounds, 10 each of

Sumo deadlift high pulls with a bag full of sand
Burpees

Packing a sandbag is just about the smartest thing you can do if you're going on vacation at the beach. It weighs nothing--till you fill it with sand!

Re: Some beach workouts

I think I'd pass on burpees
Did you do the duct taped inner bags with an outter, or just used a duffle bag and didn't care?

Re: Some beach workouts

Burpees are amazing in the sand! A bit messy though.

Normally I use inner bags for my sandbags, but on the beach I just throw the sand directly in there. I can do this because:
1. My sandbag (the douffle bag) zips shut
2. The sand is a soft surface, so I'm not worried about busting the bag when it hits the ground

Re: Some beach workouts

Move those beach burpees into the surf for a whole new dimension. I got a lot of funny looks last summer for doing 100 surf burpees for time.
