The Bear NZ

I am from New Zealand, I am a Painter/Radio Announcer/Crossfit Coach. Life is busy but fun. This is my crossfit log. I am not a Badass Firebreather, but I enjoy Crossfit. These records are mainly for my own benefit but anyone is welcome to join the fun.

I am into sarcasm and mockery in a big way. Just so you know.

Today i got to the gym late so had no time to warm up really.

Thruster 3 x 3 worked up to 80kg.

Felt fine, could have gone to 90kg or more but had to move on.

WOD
21-15-9
Deadlift 100kg
Pull up
KB Swing (24)

10:26

Was hardly warm, using woman's sized olympic bar, not nice on the hands. Everything was pretty much two sets each time, except for the pull ups. Grip was a bit toasted and got a blood blister on left hand. Small bar was not helping.

I always tear on pull ups.

Today was not fun.

880m for time. Test run to be tested again in a month or so. This run goes around the Auckland Museum which is near our gym. It is not flat and has a few obstacles.

880m: 4:16 felt horrible, wasn't ready for an 800m sprint. On a track I have done 800m in about 3:00 when training for a marathon last year. Terrain definately makes a difference.

Rest 5 mins

Karen: 150 Wall Balls for time. 10kg ball. 10:03

Never done Karen before, not very pleasant haha. I thought I could go sub 8 but boy I was wrong.

Quads felt like jelly afterwards, but I saw someone deadlifting 95kg(#210) across the gym so I wanted to see if I could Clean and Jerk it.
Had about 2 minutes rest after Karen and then I powercleaned and jerked that bad boy with ease Was stoked and surprised I could do it. Went for 105kg(#230)PR about a minute later but just had nothing in the tank.

Not a nice session haha

Did some gymnastics stuff to warm up, ring holds, L sits, Handstands etc.

Death by Clean and Jerk 60kg

Got 9 rounds and 9 reps. Just couldnt make the last one .....
