I have an excellent opportunity to have a story done on crossfit calgary. It is a lifestyle magazine that will be on the shelves early Jan/07.
I am no writer, and need to make a medium sized article on me and crossfit.(can't be specifically an add for Crossfit...must slip in to the story as I go. The article is for free and not a paid advertisement.)I know my background, and lots about crossfit, looking for some suggestions that are key to get the crossfit point across. I believe it is something you have experience to "get" what CrossFit truely is. But for the story... need some eye catching/seperate us from them points for the story.
Thanks in advance,
Brad

Brad--
I started writing training articles for our local newspaper about a year ago.
If you focus on training principles, injury prevention, etc.you'll do well.
As you mentioned, don't make it look like an ad for CrossFit and they will probably want more articles from you.
The paper I write for puts my name and my CrossFit affiliate website at the bottom of each article in case people have questions.
Be patient when working with editors, they are on real crazy schedule most of the time.
hope that helps.
