Yeah, it was interesting. I need to work on snatches more. A lot more.

Thanks, Sam! I LOVE watching people snatch.

THanks, Jay. This was the first workout I've ever done with any weight other than the DB snatches. It was nice to be able to do the prescribed weight although I did power snatch.

I know the WOD is tough -- we had TONS of DNFs (15 minute limit). Usually, it was the C2B pull ups that killed people.
That's so cool that you judged! Yeah, the C2B is hard.

090427

Five rounds for time of:
95 pound Sumo-deadlift high-pull, 21 reps
21 Ring dips

***Did 67 lb SDLHP
***Used the smallest band for ring dips-there was no way I was getting through 105 ring dips. I'd have to pack a lunch.

Time: 11:16

Re: Vanessa's1st CrossFit Journal

Today's WODs:

lil quickie:
10 1 pood KB swings
5 deadhangs
10 back extensions
x 3 rounds

then:

20 12kg swings
50 overhead lunges with the kb
x 4 rounds
Time: I cannot remember. I think it was around 12 minutes

***feeling less than optimal today but that's life
***my left shoulder is noticeably weaker and I get a pinching feeling when I hold weight over head. I know I have some scar tissue in the joint. Boo...

Re: Vanessa's1st CrossFit Journal

Those ring dips fron yesterday will kill your shoulders too. I was worried about that workout myself.

Watch youself dealing with the public with the swine flu going arround. Do you think it will affect the qualifier?

Vanessa,

I'm doing some catch-up on your log here; I've sure missed out on a lot of great stuff. Awesome, especially with the school work and all. Congrats on the "A" from your exam!

Hope your shoulder recovers quickly!

I'll be careful. I think the qualifier will be fine. People just need to use common sense and stay at home if they have been sick or feel under the weather or if they've been around other sick people. I've been relatively secluded the last few days so that's a plus. All this studying has it's advantages I suppose.

Thanks Stephen!

The shoulder is the result of either an old acute injury or just cumulative wear and tear.

I'll watch out.

I am shooting for a workout this afternoon so if I can I will be doing the cleans. I say shooting because I really do have about 5 million things concerning school to have finished by Saturday and I have to study for my final on Saturday morning AND I work the next two days. Yay....

Whats up with the ring dips lately? Geez!
