it's $500 for the affiliation. basically your paying for the support structure that CrossFit provides, as well as the ability to use the "CrossFit" name. From what I've seen, that alone is worth much more. But you won't hear me arguing that the price needs to go up. Besides, I haven't affiliated yet, so I want it to stay low.

Hmmm...I couldn't disagree more. It is the 'heart' of every business plan. Without it, what is on paper is worthless.

I'm curious to see some of the answers as well. A CrossFit facility is part of my long term plan and I'm starting now to have as much worked out as possible so that I can concentrate on the CrossFit part of the business when it's time.

When it's all said and done to start a modest CF facility from scratch will cost around 20K. Many have started with less, including us but by the time we grew to a full size training operation we had about 20k into it. You can reduce that some by scrounging and bargain shopping and you don't have to have it all at once, but plan on 20 large.
