First measurable improvement

Three months ago to the day I did the WOD Death by Pull Ups. You know how it goes so I won't explain.

I just got done doing it again. I figured three months is a good enough time span to improve, and I was right.

The first time I did 11+9, totaling 75 pull ups. And yes, I kipped.

Today, I did 16+11, totaling 147.

I nearly doubled the amount of pull ups I can do. And I even got butterfly pulls ups; I can do about 8 before I lose rhythm.

Crossfit and gymnastics strength training, which I started a few weeks ago.

Had to tell someone. That is all.

Way to go dude, that's awesome. I finally learned how to kip properly after years of dead hangs, it makes a huge difference.

That's awesome! It must be a Death by pullups kinda week. The first time I did them (July 28th) I used a band and only did 7, this time (Oct. 25) no band and 11!! So I feel your joy!! Congrats!!

Thanks. Learning how to kip properly really did help with this one. When I tied my previous results, I was surprised by how much energy I still had to keep going.

And congrats to you as well. It feels pretty good seeing actual improvement, rather than just assuming I improved.

Thanks a lot guys.
I still have a ways before I reach my goals, but this is definitely a big step in the right direction.

Re: First measurable improvement

Awesome work everyone! It's unreal if you stick with it. I remember the first time I tried crossfit (about 3 months ago) I did Fight Gone Bad. Wow, what a wake up call. So far I've dropped 17lbs. Still learning a lot of the technique, but its unreal!
