Re: J&J WOD and Meatfest May 30

I'm still here. I think I used up all my funny comments at the meatfest. I'm glad everyone had a good time, Jay and I put a lot of effort into this weekend.

I'm going to go read some news now

However, I have to agree; I'm headed to the store in a bit and I think I'm going to stop by the Georgetown Market and see if they have any uncured bacon on hand...
I figured I would start with the innuendos early.

Hey All;

Well, Meatfest 2009 is in the record books. It certainly was a great time. I really appreciated everyone driving in and making the "event" so enjoyable.

While the food and activities were right off the charts, IMHO the best part was sharing the weekend with new friends.

Sounds like everyone made it home OK, which is a good thing.

Jamie and I are discussing improvements for MeatFest 2010, open to all comments and suggestions.

Looking forward to seeing the Pics.

Have a great week, I'm sure this thread will continue.

Jay

Looking forward to seeing the Pics.

Jay, you are a great host. I'd love to help out more with prep work for 2010.

The team assignments could have been tweaked better in retrospect, but I think considering that some people weren't even there when assignments were done, they were as good as could be expected.

Personally (Renee, back me up here!) workouts that didn't involve 91 pushups for me would be great. Oh wait, that's totally my own fault for not practicing kettlebell throws, isn't it?

I think Timothy and I will be making an ab wheel, hopefully AFTER we get pix posted.

totally agreed on the pushups, Tirzah. i think the team workouts need some tweaking. i maintain that a team murph would be way fun.

jay, your food was everything i imagined it would be and more. thanks for hosting a bunch of carnivores in your place for the weekend

My only advice would be less meat and more soy...

20 athletic and lean people who run on veggies, meat and fat. Who would have thought?

Oh yeah, and ice cream and cheese cake.

Great time guys! Thanks for putting it together. I'd say I won't be eating meat for awhile, but that would be a lie. A pound of liver along with onions will be meeting it's maker tonight.

I actually had a steak and bean burrito pre-workout... but that might explain my sub-standard pushups.

Re: J&J WOD and Meatfest May 30

Behold, pictures and video of MeatFest, 2009!

Here's is the link to my freshly created photobucket album. (WFS)

And here is a link to my freshly created vimeo page. (mostly WFS... there are a couple of naughty words in the audio)

All the pictures are up, but the videos take forever to load. There are two more to come, I'll post the links when I have those up. Most of the pictures I got were during the events, though I did get a couple of some immediately-to-be-devoured bacon explosions, and the closest we got to a group photo.

Hopefully someone else got some better pics. Especially of me, man I look like a dork when I toss a kettlebell... LOL
