The weird thing is my training has been going really well up until recently. Metcons have just started to suffer in the last couple of days.

Let me know if you were able to get better, and if so, what you did! I'm getting pretty frustrated here, I'm normally an active person but I don't feel like doing anything but sitting around at the moment.
Take a week off and come back. You'll be much stronger and better. Make sure you eat enough and sleep enough during this time.

If performance ever drops, this tends to mean you're overreaching and NEED to take ~3-7 consecutive rest days. If not, you will chronically keep overreaching which leads to overtraining which may takes MONTHS of rest to recover from. Don't let it get that far.

If your performance dropped after you stopped eating grains like the OP, then start eating grains again. And go see a doctor if it keeps up. Sometimes we really are sick.

Re: over-sleeping, chronic fatigue, other issues

I've been to see a doctor as it happens, but as a trainee doc myself I can tell you that tiredness, headaches and feeling a bit sick are pretty common and non-specific symptoms! I'm getting bloods done inc TFTs to exclude an organic cause in any case.

Interestingly I feel worse after sleeping longer, ie for around 9-10 hours. If I do this, its a struggle to get up at all and I feel drowsy all day. By forcing myself out of bed after 8 or so hours, I actually feel better. Strange...
