Mixing yoga with CrossFit?

Does anyone know or heard of any box using yoga as part of their stretching or warm up? I use to do a lot of Bikram Yoga but that doesn't build strength so I stopped doing it. I still think it's great and is beneficial done once in a while.

By the way, if anyone is looking for books on the muscle anatomy, I have this book on yoga that is very detailed in showing the different parts of the muscle in the human body. If anyone is interested, have a look. They have free samples too so have a look.

F.Y.I I don't work for this company but just thought that its a good resource that others could benefit from.

Re: Mixing yoga with CrossFit?

A couple of months ago there was a podcast of CF Radio about a trainer that also taught yoga classes at her box. It was very interesting.

Here's the episode: http://journal.crossfit.com/2012/04/...pisode-221.tpl (wfs)

Re: Mixing yoga with CrossFit?

We have a yoga class every Sunday evening at our box in Annapolis. It complements CF perfectly. I got out all sorts of knots in my hamstrings that I never even knew I had, and this aided my recovery and my lifts.

Re: Mixing yoga with CrossFit?

I'm hoping my box adds yoga too. I did it for awhile and it really helped with CF.
