Re: Hans CFCC Workout/Eating Log

Also, my awesome picture is from last summer. This was the swine/H1N1 flu screening at the Shanghai, China airport,... they sent 3 guys in full biohazard suits onto the plane to take everyone temperatures with laser beams on their foreheads.

Breakfast 9:30am: 4 egg omelet with poblano peppers, onions, tomotos, guacamole, 10 almonds, 10oz fatfree milk, 1 kiwifruit
Lunch 12:30pm: grilled chicken salad with italian dressing, 16oz 2% milk

plan on hitting up the water polo club tonight 8:30-10PM, along with 5g BCAAs in coconut water before and after

quite sore all over my body, tomorrow will be total rest day ... people at CFCC doing tabata row today must be feeling it after yesterday's WoD

Re: Hans CFCC Workout/Eating Log

Hans - do the BCAAs make the coconut water taste gross? I mix mine with regular water but then add "true lemon" crystals to it so I can deal with the taste.

Re: Hans CFCC Workout/Eating Log

The sweetness makes it a bit better.

Well, Maybe not, maybe it just tastes really bitter and a little bit sweet. Definitely drinkable.

I'm guessing that you and I may have different definitions of "drinkable."

1/27/2010 Evening

8PM: 5 g BCAAs in 5 oz coconut water
8-10PM: Swimming and water polo practice
10PM: 5 g BCAAs in 5 oz coconut water
10:30PM: 1 cup fatfree milk, 1 scoop Oats&Whey (24g PRO, 22g carbs), 2 aleve, 2 fish oil supplement pills

Legs were pretty tired at water polo tonight from deadlifts/thrusters/rowing. May have tweaked shoulder a bit in the pool as well, but it seems ok now.

BCAAs in coconut water is still pretty nasty tasting, will try adding Oats&Whey to the mixture for pre and post-WoD drinks...

Stretching/rest day tomorrow

1/28/2010

Sleep 12:00ish-9:30
Breakfast 9:45am: 3 eggs, 1 slice prosciutto, onions/peppers, 1 kiwi (the fruit, not a person from new zealand), 10 almonds, some guacamole
Lunch 12:30pm: 1 hamburger (1/2 of the bun), 1 tuna sandwich on whole wheat (1/2 of the bread) from lunch truck
Snack 5:00pm: 1 cup milk, 1/2 scoop Oats&Whey (~12g PRO, 11g carb), knew I wouldn't be eating for a while...

Made chili from 5-7pm(great rest day activity):
3# ground sirloin
3# ground turkey
1 large yellow onion
1 yellow pepper
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
5 jalapenos, roasted and diced
4 tomatillos, roasted and diced
1 can black beans
~25 pearl tomatoes
~10oz tofu
~12 oz white mushrooms
1 pig's foot (mostly for flavor, although I may gnaw on some of this later)

Total price of ingredients at Reading Terminal Market: $24.50

Some pictures of the ingredients attached ... that's the pig's foot browning in the pot (butcher cut it into quarters for me)

Figure it's gotta stew for a bit, so will have roast beef & prosciutto sandwich for dinner...

2/1/2010 Sumo DLs and Tabata Row

Had a pretty decent workout today, considering the low amount of sleep I had(for me) and the crap I put into my body during the day.

Sleep: 1:45am-9am
Breakfast 10am: Sausage/Egg/Cheese on hoagie roll
Lunch 12:30pm: Bacon Cheeseburger
Happy Hour 4-5pm: 2 Miller Lites, ~8 mini-hotdogs, some spinach/artichoke dip, some veggie quesadilla

WoD 6:30-7:30pm
Sumo DLs
155x2
205x2
235x2
260x2
285x2
265x2
The 285 reps were pretty slow, but happy my back was in reasonable form/positioning on them. Scraped up my shins pretty good tho.

Tabata Row 7:45pm: 999m really wanted 1K! Had 2-3 transitions that weren't so great (didn't get a good final pull, or mis-timed them). Splits faded from 1:23 at the start to ~1:40 by the end ... legs died. Didn't remember till after I was done that I'd had a few beers earlier in the day

Post WoD 7:55pm: 1 scoop Oats&Whey in ~12oz fat-free milk, flax seed and fish oil supplements
9:30pm Snack: 1 kiwi, ~10 almonds, 1 slice prosciutto
