Good Rowing Working, C2 Pace Boat Question

Hi folks,

I recently revisited a C2 workout that I really like: 300m sprint, 1:00 rest, repeat as many times as you can until you can't do the 300m in under 1:00 (scale as needed). I can set this up nicely on the C2 monitor, but I have a question about the pace boat: do you know what speed I'd have to set the pace boat at so that all I have to concentrate on is beating it? It would seem like 1:40/500m would be the time, but I'm not sure how fast the pace boat starts. I know it doesn't leap out to a 1:40/500m pace instantaneously, so it seems like maybe I'd have to set it a shade under 1:40/500m, but I'm not sure how far.

No biggie, it's definitely in the ball park already, I was just wondering if there was a calculation floating around out there I could use. A little Googling and searching these boards didn't yield anything.

Thanks!

Jim

Re: Good Rowing Working, C2 Pace Boat Question

I used this

http://www.concept2.co.uk/training/calculator.phpYou must indicate if your links are Work and Family Safe (WFS)

enter your distance of 300 meters and your time of 1:00 and the pace is exactly 1:40 so yeah...

Set the pace boat to 1:40 per 500 and beat it evey 300 meters.

Re: Good Rowing Working, C2 Pace Boat Question

Cool, thanks Omar! It really looked like the pace boat was going too slow at 1:40/500m, so it's good news that I have a little more wiggle room than I thought I did.
