Pre- and Post- workout meals

First post here...

A few questions for everyone.

What is the recommended meal scheme for someone who works out in the morning? Snack then breakfast, or follow the normal scheme of breakfast then lunch about 5 hours later? Or something else?

At this point I don't generally eat before my workout; I get my breakfast after my workout. Have others seen improved performance by working out on a full stomach?
