Another Ring Mounting Question

Are wood screw eye bolts screwed through the ceiling sheet rock directly into the floor joists sufficient to hang rings?

Thanks

Re: Another Ring Mounting Question

depents on the strenght (thickness) of the eye bolts. Should be 4/5 milimeter thick, and at least 4 cm in the wood.

I've used children swing bolts, they've been in use for 4 years now.

Re: Another Ring Mounting Question

I used 5 inch lag bolts with some gorilla glue in pilot holes to secure a 2x6 to my ceiling of my garage, it's finished and I just bolted it through the sheet rock. Then I used 3 or 4 inch eye bolts into the 2x6 at the desired width, again I used pilot holes and gorilla glue. And I don't think the gorilla glue will really do anything useful, but I like using the stuff. Makes me feel more "manly"
