When you use stabilizer muscles for locomotion...

i did a route in my climbing gym yesterday that required me to stem (where you press outwards with either foot, in a semi-split position) up a corner for 44 feet, with only 5 holds, total. there were also two places where i had to jump a good 2-3 feet to the next hold, again with only my feet. while it still was hard work, in the past, stemming that hard has always cramped my up something wicked.
