Oh my god, I just got back from the gym where I was running my 5K, and not only did I shave 11 minutes and 56 seconds off my previous time (!!!!!) I also ran my last 1.1 mile in 7:04!!!

See, I had this New Year's resolution of running a 7 minute mile... and when I started working out I was running five days a week (slow long distance, sprinting, interval training once or twice a week) and could never get better than 8 minutes on a treadmill (though I did a mile and a quarter in 9:44 once in the mountains, 7:47 average runtime).

I thought I'd have to give up on my 7 min. goal because crossfit only has running every once in a while and I haven't seen interval training the way I was used to it, but boy, how wrong I was! And this is from very inconsistent crossfitting, probably an average of 3 or 4 days a week instead of 5 or 6...

These are my scores last time and this time:
1st mile 14:32, 10:34
2nd mile 11:53, 10:22
last 1.1 mile 13:32, 7:04

I'm a believer!!!!!!

Yael, that's awesome! Looking at your comps, it looks like you've got another 4-6 minutes in you on those 1st and 2nd miles. Congrats again on the improvement!

Thanks!!! I'm still gloating. Gonna give myself another day or two before I test my Level 1 performance on the excercises on http://www.crossfitnorth.com/article..._Standards.pdf and set new goals. I'm excited about working on my rowing time and also getting those three unassisted pullups. When I started I was only pulling 35% of my weight, and now I'm pulling 65%.

Crossfit really works!!! Even for me!!!! ROCK! :-)
